A Petrol or Diesel generator converts the chemical (petrol or diesel) energy into mechanical energy and then into electrical energy.
This possible because of the engine and an alternator. 
The petrol or diesel combusts in the engine, turning the rotor in the alternator.
The rotor is a coil of copper wire, the copper wire spins past stationary magnets. As copper wire passes over magnets, the magnets induce a slight electrical charge in the wire. The unit of electricity current is measured in Amp (A), or Ampere.
The electrical current is the rate of flow – how much can flow at once. To calculate the peak Amps you’ll need, find out the Amp rating of all the devices you’d want to run, add them up, and then look for an Amp rating that could run them all at once. The calculation might looks like this: TV Amps + Fan Amps + Fridge Amps … = Total Amps
An Amp hour is how much electricity can flow from the battery at a usable voltage, typically for a 24 hour period. You’ll often see it expressed as something like 100Ah. Divide that 100Ah by 20 hours. You’re left with 5A. The calculation looks like this: 100Ah ÷ 20h = 5A for 20 hours
A Watt (W) is the unit of measure for the amount of work 1 Volt (V) of electricity at 1 Amp (A) can do per second. Here’s the calculation: 1 Volt x 1 Amp = 1 Watt
When considering Watts, be careful!  Usually the Wattage rating that you first see is how many running Watts the generator can handle. Some electrical devices have a starting Watt rating that’s much higher than its running Wattage. For example Fridges.

Before we proceed further, let’s talk about International Space Station solar fridge and Emily Cummins fridge – you see, solar fridges have been around us for the past decade
Solar energy, often known as photovoltaics, is everywhere these days. Many of us especially areas were main grid continue to fail use it to power our homes. Solar panels sit top of buildings, homes and tents and power our electronic gadgets and the International Space Station (ISS). These technologies use photovoltaic (PV) cells to convert sunlight into electricity. When sunlight strikes a PV cell, it heats the cell up. Heating the cell causes electrons to knock loose, and these electrons are converted into a stream of electricity, or current.
The most common solar-powered refrigerators on the market today, uses this PV technology to power an otherwise mostly traditional refrigeration setup.
But one of the most recent developments uses “solar power” in a much more basic way.
We’ll take a look at both of these solar-powered refrigerators and find out why they are so unique. We’ll start with the SunDanzer, which is based on technology developed to provide air conditioning and refrigeration on the International Space Station
While developing solar-powered refrigeration systems for the International Space Station (ISS), a couple of NASA scientists decided the technology would do well in the Earth-bound world, too. Scientific-study outposts, eco-resorts, remote hunting cabins, street vendor food carts and areas of the developing world with no access to electricity could all benefit from solar-powered refrigeration. Not only food but also many medications and vaccines need a cool environment to remain viable. It’s a fairly essential technology.
Those NASA photovoltaics engineers created SunDanzer, a line of solar-powered refrigerators and freezers.
The SunDanzer refrigerator works a lot like a traditional one, which basically we have adapted using a vapor-compression system for cooling. Basically, a refrigerant gas like ammonia is compressed (placed under pressure), causing it to get hot; as it cools back down, it condenses into a liquid. When this liquid travels to a lower-pressure area, it expands and vaporizes. This vaporization absorbs heat, rapidly cooling the coils of the refrigerator.
This is how conventional refrigerator works. The difference between our main grid refrigerator and a solar-powered SunDanzer is that instead of running all the moving parts of the compression-expansion system by plugging into the main, you plug into a solar-panel setup. The system simply uses photovoltaic cells instead of the main electricity generated by coal or nuclear power.
To supply enough power to maintain that temperature, the unit’s solar panel needs about five hours of sunlight a day. But it can store excess solar-generated power so it’ll stay cold for a week without sunlight. And there’s the option of supplemental battery power so food will still stay cold in a pinch. Most solar-powered cooling systems come with this type of backup.
One solar-powered refrigerator model that does not have such a high-tech backup is the so-called “eco-fridge” developed by a 21-year-old student in Britain. That model has no moving parts at all.
When most of us think of “solar power,” we think of panels of photovoltaic cells. A refrigerator introduced in 2009 by British student Emily Cummins used a far more literal version of solar power.
Cummins’ refrigerator uses no photovoltaics, no electricity, no chemical refrigerant and no moving parts to produce a cooling effect. Instead, it uses an evaporative-cooling system based entirely on the sun’s heat and some water. It’s an ideal setup for African countries.
The fridge is brilliantly simple. It’s made of two cylinders, one inside the other. The outer cylinder can be made of almost anything on hand — cardboard, wood or plastic, typically, with holes in it to allow the greatest possible sun access. The inner cylinder is metal. The space in between the inner and outer cylinders is filled with materials like wool or sand.
The evaporative-cooling system works like this: You place food or medicine inside the inner metal cylinder and close it up. You then pour fresh water into the area between the cylinders, saturating the organic material, and place the whole setup in the sun. As the sun warms the outer cylinder and heats up the wet organic material, the water evaporates. Just like in a traditional fridge, evaporation removes heat (that’s why we sweat — when the sweat evaporates, we cool down). The organic material is touching the inner cylinder, so this heat transfer pulls heat from the inner cylinder holding the food or drink. The result is a very cold inner chamber.
This process is repeated as the water evaporates fully, so water is continually replenished and the cooling continues.
This system has no battery backup, so it relies on a good supply of sunlight which makes hot countries ideal candidates for this solar-powered setup.
There’s always the potential setback of any solar-powered necessity: Sunlight is seldom guaranteed.
In more high-tech PV refrigerators, backups in the form of batteries or generators are common in order to avoid system failure. The low-tech eco-fridge relies entirely on nature to keep things cold.

The energy consumption of LED fixture is at least 50% lower than HPS fixture which is widely used as lighting source in Traditional street lights. Rechargeable Battery – Battery will store the electricity from solar panel during the day and provide energy to the fixture during night. The life cycle of the battery is very important to the lifetime of the light and the capacity of the battery will affect the backup days of the lights.
Controller – Controller is also very important for solar street light. A controller will usually decide to switch on /off charging and lighting. Some modern controllers are programmable so that user can decide the appropriate change of charging, lighting and dimming.
Pole – Strong Poles are necessary to all street lights, especially to solar street lights as there are often components mounted on the top of the pole: fixtures, panels and sometimes batteries. However, in some newer designs, the PV panels and all electronics are integrated in the pole itself. Wind resistance is also a factor. 
Each street light can have its own photo voltaic panel, independent of other street lights. Alternatively, a solar panel farm or a number of panels can be installed as a central power source on a separate location and supply power to a number of street lights

The life of the lamp in solar street lights based on induction technology can be more than 10, 0000 hours, which is almost 100 times the life of the incandescent lamps. These results in lower maintenance and electrical costs and fewer disturbances caused to the traffic on the road. Since these lights are based in induction technology, they generate lesser heat, thus permitting the use of aluminum reflectors that increases the intensity of the light produced by the lamp

Batteries store the energy harvest by solar panel from the sun, allowing the energy to be used as needed through an inverter. Note, not all energy harvest by solar panel must be stored in battery system before it can be used. Some energy harvest by solar panels are directly wired from the solar panel to the solar powered device. In this case, we are interested with the solar system that require a battery back up (or bank). With regards to the solar powered systems that require or utilize a battery, there are a few different types: 12-volt DC used for RV lighting and appliances.
Inverter battery systems that are capable of converting 12, 24, or 48-volt DC battery voltage into a 120- 240volt AC that can operate regular household appliances such as a refrigerator, water heater, TV, etc.

Yes, before we go further in our almighty inverters, lets chat a little bit about it… (Solar Powered Inverters) Solar Powered Inverters have special functions adapted for use with photovoltaic arrays. The critical balance of system component in a photovoltaic system allows the use of electrical household AC powered equipments, like the TVs Fridges, Fans, etc…
Our harvested energy from the sun by solar panel is variable low voltage direct current (DC) while our alternating current (AC) is high voltage.
Today, most of our electrical equipment and appliances are AC, then, how can we change the harvested DC to AC uses. This tells us that we now have two energy to deal with.
To understand what we are dealing with, let’s first check out alternator – An alternator would have a coil of wire with a rotating magnet close to it. As one pole of the magnet approaches the coil, a current will be produced in the coil. This current will grow to a maximum as the magnet passes close to the coil, dying down as the magnetic pole moves further away. However when the opposite pole of the magnet approaches the coil, the current induced in the coil will flow in the opposite direction as we all know, as this process is repeated by the continual rotation of the magnet, an alternating current is produced. 
What about transformer? A transformer also causes an electric current to be induced in a coil, but this time, the changing magnetic field is produced by another coil having an alternating current flowing through it. Any coil with an electric current flowing through it will act like a magnet and produce a magnetic field. If the direction of the current changes then the polarity of the field changes.
The difference about transformer is that, the voltage produced in the secondary coil is not necessarily the same as that applied to the primary coil. If the secondary coil is twice the size of the primary coil, the secondary voltage will be twice that of the voltage applied to the primary coil. We can effectively produce whatever voltage we want by varying the size of the coils. 
This simple narratives tells that our inverters are coils, the amount of energy we need depend the size of coil required.
If we connected a direct current from a battery to the primary coil it would not induce a current in the secondary as the magnetic field would not be changing.
However, if we can make that direct current effectively change direction repeatedly by the use of a basic inverter, it would produce a square wave output as the current would be changing direction suddenly.
Some inverter would use transistors to switch the current, the switching transistors switches small current, (most likely DC) which is then convert by further transistor circuitry to bigger current (most likely AC)
A Solar Inverter or PV Inverter, converts the variable direct current (DC) output of a photovoltaic, PV solar panel into a utility frequency alternating curren (AC) that can be use for commercial electrical grid or off – grid consumption.
Battery backup inverters, are special inverters which are designed to draw energy from a battery, manage the battery charge via an onboard charger, and export excess energy to the utility grid. These inverters are capable of supplying AC energy to selected loads during a utility outage, and are required to have anti-islanding protection.
Stand-alone inverters, used in isolated systems where the inverter draws its DC energy from batteries charged by photovoltaic arrays. Many stand-alone inverters also incorporate integral battery chargers to replenish the battery from an AC source, when available. Normally these do not interface in any way with the utility grid, and as such, are not required to have anti-islanding protection.
Grid-tie inverters, which match phase with a utility-supplied sine wave. Grid-tie inverters are designed to shut down automatically upon loss of utility supply, for safety reasons. They do not provide backup power during utility outages.

This is one of the permanent fitting positions for multi panels with high power output in some roofs.
On plain tile and zinc roofing which is most common roofs, solar panel installation onto them is a straightforward process as they can be removed and reinserted easily. It is one of the interlocking methods we apply when installing multi solar panels for high energy harvest on zinc or tile roofing system. This involves using roof brackets (“anchors”) made of stainless steel or aluminium and they fasten directly to the timbers that make up the roof structure.
